The SmartCloud service is not a new cloud storage service. Instead, it is a tool that combines the available storage of connected accounts into a single large storage. Thus, if you have 1GB available storage in one account, and 2GB in another account, you have 3GB available storage in your SmartCloud account. Therefore, with this new service you can upload a file with a size of 3GB!
Currently, you can add accounts from the following services into the SmartCloud service:
- Google Drive
- OneDrive for Business
When you add an account into the SmartCloud service, the folder named "smartcloud" is created in the root folder of that account. All files that you upload in the SmartCloud account, are saved in that folder. Therefore, you should not remove or rename that folder nor should you remove / rename the files that are inside that folder.
Firstly you need to login to your Rainbow account. If you haven't already created one, you can do it now, it is free. Then you need to subscribe to the SmartCloud service. You can subscribe for a month or for a year. Finally, you can start using the SmartCloud account like you use the other accounts.
Currently, you can only upload and download files to the SmartCloud account. We do not support the feature to rename a file nor to create folders. If you need those two features, please contact us and we will do our best to implement them.
When you upload a file to the SmartCloud account, we save that information on our server. In particular, we store the following information:
- File name
- File size
We left the best part of this process for last. All this information that is stored on our server is encrypted with your Rainbow account password. Thus, nobody, but you, can access this information!
